Reflection 1

Reflection Paper about Work Immersion Webinar Day 1-A

Work Immersion Day 1-A’s general topic is future professionals’ guide in job hunting. The speaker tackled first the do’s and don’ts in resume/CV writing, such as: it must be easy to read, it should tell a true story, it should contain a list of accomplishments, one should avoid putting irrelevant hobbies and interests, one should not mention too many soft skills, one should remove personal pronouns, and one should avoid generic and high-level claims. Then, she discussed writing the resume with a story by finding out who you are as a person. By having the right mindset as a student, where you should have fun while studying and you should see that education is a key to a bright future, as a son/daughter, where you should honor and love your parents and never forget where you came from, and as a soon to be worker/professional, where you have to work hard and smart and you should never stop learning; by also talking about your dream job or profession; by preparing your personal profile; by completing the details of your educational background; and by checking your accomplishments versus your life goals and bucket list of dreams. Next, the speaker talked about discovering one’s passion by knowing where you are good at, knowing the thing you enjoy doing the most, and by knowing your purpose and mission in life. After that, she gave tips in a job interview, life lessons in working as a professional and entrepreneur, and tips for becoming a successful professional or entrepreneur. Finally, Atty. Ains Salvadora gave words of wisdom, where she said, “You should pursue your dreams with faith and persistence. The darkest hour is just before dawn, you got to believe. Life is too short not to spend every moment of it pursuing your dreams.”
